I’m a certified KravMaga instructor, as well as the director of The Salem Self Defense Center. Much like other young boys of the time, I was truly in awe of the martial arts and attended classes from age 9 to 12.Upon my graduation from school, I set a personal goal to become a serious Martial Artist. After a year as a student of Vovinam, I was completely inspired by the philosophy, fitness, and mind/body focus that the Martial Arts provided for me. In 1974, I sought out Shaolin Kempo Master li Sho Yun in order to expand my experience.
After 12 years of hard work, my efforts were rewarded by achieving 3rd Dan in Shaolin Kempo. Since then, I’ve trained in Uechi-Ryu Karate and Krav Maga. I also developed the R.A.K.E Fighting System. I’ve always felt that anything that we learn is a source of empowerment. “Knowledge is Power”
At this point in my life I feels that it’s important to be a positive role model for children. and share knowledge that I have been so fortunate to have received. As a result, I have devoted much of my personal time to children. I’ve coached baseball for many years, been the commissioner of Youth Football in my town for 13 years, and the chairman of the D.A.R.E. Program in my town since 1994.
